NIGHT TREES
During my night walks I usually carry my camera and take photographs of different aspects of my neighborhood and its surroundings. This project was conceived of only recently and I think the act of illuminating the trees with a flashlight, isolating them from everything else, reveals to me some aspects of them that I had never been cognizant of before. Perhaps the night has that ability; to reveal facets of things that during the day stay strangely hidden. In this brief moment in time in which people are gaining an awareness of the importance of the environment as a life enabler, seeing the trees in a situation of apparent rest, almost inert, but almost magical, makes me acknowledge how truly alive they are and how important it is to protect nature and contribute to generating this awareness to the community. I wish this project could promote this awakening to some extent.
